The first fairy of 2018 shes a very calm spirit as after hours of experimentation some success and some failures I have ironed out the way to make these little sprits. Although they are still by far the most difficult and time-consuming pieces that I make taking over 30 hours of intense work for just a simple sitting fairy. This fairy is made of high-grade stainless steel which is extremely hard wearing and can live indoors or outdoors with you forever. Each piece is unique and made to your specifications please contact me to start your commission.
I have been bursting since the time I started doing my sculptures four years ago to have the opportunity to make a pair of herons. They seem to work so well in our gardens. They really do the job of creating a magic feeling and as sculpture should give you an uplifting feeling. They are made of Bronze that is now definitely my medium of choice. It is very easy to work with and super sophisticated. It is also more expensive but the time that I put into the pieces justifies the investment. Bronze sculptures are an investment and I am delighted to have clients that are investing in my work!
Another member of my fox sculptures causing a little bit of interest before she made it to her forever home in cork where just for Christmas she is in the garden keeping her beady eye on her new owner busy in the kitchen preparing for Christmas.
I know peacock are boys but they are so pretty this name seemed to suit him. This is my first piece in bronze and it was lovely to work with. It gives a very sophisticated look. I oxidised parts of the sculpture to get the fantastic green colour and polished up other parts of the piece and achieve a lovely mix of colour and finish. I would be delighted to work on another bronze piece a green fairy for example… Let’s see what new challenges 2018 brings. The peacock stands for longevity, kindness, love, compassion, goodwill, protectiveness, glory, beauty, life, health, radiance, resurrection, renewal, stimulation and life. Wow, I think we could all do with a symbol like this in the garden. Happy New Year.
Joy is a spinning fairy just to add that little bit more magic she has a glass face and is a lovely little soul. She didn’t cause me too much bother and is now on the way to her forever home in Lake Michigan U.S.A. Where I am sure she will be received with great JOY Happy Christmas.
I hope this fairy lifts your spirits as we embrace winter. She was commissioned by an international diving master and is going to live on Cork estuary. I wanted to get really good detail and a watery feeling to her so I have cast her face and arms in glass resin with wire inlay. Each fairy is unique I listen to my client and small hints and direction help me to achieve something just for that person each time. Fairys are made of high-grade stainless steel and very hard wearing for life out doors.
In the true feeling of Autumn here are the two foxes I have completed during the month of October. One leaping who is going to live in a courtyard garden in Ireland and the other standing who’s forever home is the U.K. This Fox was commissioned in memory of a lost brother who passed very sadly through suicide. He was a great fan of Fantastic Mr Fox I hope he likes him. It was a delight to receive both of these commissions! and I really felt was doing the right thing with my sculpture work when I was able to create Fantastic Mr Fox for my client in memory of his brother.
Hope you enjoy a little snippet of the work that goes into one of my wire sculptures I work to a commission on most of my pieces and my work is mostly commissioned as a special gift to mark an important occasion! I would be happy to work on a unique piece for you!
These flowers are made in steel wire the same material as I use in my wildlife sculpture. They come with a copper tube to add extra support in the ground. They will cheer up any bed when summer flowers have died back or a permanent feature in a grassy bed. They are around 120cm height and 40/50 cm in width. A welcome gift. One flower is €150 including postage and packaging within Ireland or €330 for three including postage and package within Ireland. €530 for 5 flowers including postage and packaging within Ireland. UK deliveries add €20.
I hope to think I’m getting better at wildlife sculptures, in particular, boxing hares. I have really worked on this piece to try and get a definite male and female hair in courtship. Hares box in March and yesterday really felt like March..! The wonderful thing about sculpture for me, is capturing a moment that is only relevant to that creatures habits. I hope that I have captured the strength and an uplifting spirit in this latest tussling couple. I work to a commission which is great and never get disappointed by your requests so let me do something special for you. This pair is being shipped off to the UK tomorrow to a loving garden and a lovely lady I know will love them as much as I loved making them…
